1969 Triumph Trident T150 Project Catch-Up
Project note: This 1969 Triumph Trident T150 was later completed and sold by Angloclassics. The article below records the project as it stood in July 2025.
This matching-numbers April 1969 T150 had been sitting in the background for some time before work properly resumed. It was an early USA-spec bike with the Beauty Kit and arrived complete but tired.
Engine rebuild
The engine needed a full rebuild and was stripped from the bottom end up. Bearings, top-end components and the gearbox were all dealt with before the engine went back into the frame.
Rolling chassis
By this stage the front end was together and the bike was back on its wheels. Attention had moved to the rear wheel, swingarm and suspension.
The rear assembly was stripped, new swingarm bushes were fitted, and the original fasteners were cleaned up and sent for zinc plating where possible. The seat was also being tidied and refitted.
Final stages
The remaining work was mainly paint, trim, carburettors and the final mechanical checks needed before the bike could be started and road tested.
The aim throughout was not to turn it into a concours bike. It was rebuilt as a clean, usable early Trident while keeping as much of the original character as practical.
