Selected classic British motorcycles can be prepared, photographed, advertised and sold through Angloclassics.

The service suits owners who want the motorcycle presented clearly and would rather not manage every enquiry, viewing and sale arrangement themselves.

A SELECTIVE SERVICE

Not every motorcycle will be taken on

Angloclassics mainly considers Triumph, Norton and BSA motorcycles, along with similar British machines that suit the site and its buyers. The motorcycle, its condition, documentation, location and likely sale price are reviewed before it is accepted.

Standard and restored bikes

Original motorcycles, older restorations and well-presented rebuilt bikes may all be suitable.

Regular riders

A usable motorcycle does not need to be a show bike, but its condition and faults need to be described accurately.

Projects

Complete or worthwhile projects may be considered where the parts, identity and expected value can be established.

Estate motorcycles

Individual motorcycles or selected bikes from an estate collection can be discussed with the family or executor.

From the first assessment through to the sale

Assessment and pricing

The motorcycle is reviewed and a realistic asking price is discussed before the listing is prepared.

Preparation review

Any mechanical, presentation or paperwork issues that should be dealt with before advertising are identified and discussed.

Photography and listing

The motorcycle is photographed and described with its specification, history, condition and known faults.

Advertising

The bike is listed through the Angloclassics website and Trade Me, with promotion through social media and the email newsletter.

Buyer enquiries and viewings

Angloclassics deals with potential buyers, answers questions and arranges viewings where needed.

Sale arrangements

Offers, payment arrangements and the final handover are managed with the owner and buyer.

HOW THE SALE IS HANDLED

The process from first contact to handover

1. Send details Provide photographs, motorcycle details, location and the price expected.
2. Review Angloclassics decides whether the bike suits the service and discusses its likely market.
3. Agree terms The asking price, preparation, access to the bike and sale arrangements are agreed.
4. Advertise The listing is prepared, published and promoted through the usual channels.
5. Complete the sale Buyer communication, cleared payment and motorcycle handover are arranged.

WHICH BIKES ARE SUITABLE

The bike and the price both need to make sense

The motorcycle should fit the Angloclassics audience, have enough information to describe it accurately and be available for photography, viewings and collection.

A bike may be declined if it is outside the usual scope, cannot be properly identified, has major undisclosed issues or is expected to sell well above the current market.

WHAT THE OWNER PROVIDES

Accurate information and the right to sell the bike

The owner needs to provide the make, model, year, engine and frame numbers, registration status, known history, recent work and details of faults, damage, missing parts or non-standard components.

Keys, registration information, receipts and other relevant paperwork should be available, along with confirmation that the owner has the right to sell the motorcycle.

SALE ON BEHALF FEE

$750 NZD

The fee covers photography, website and Trade Me listings, social media and newsletter promotion, buyer communication and handling the sale process.

PREPARATION AND WORKSHOP COSTS

Mechanical work is separate from the selling fee

A bike may need cleaning, servicing, fault repairs, a WOF check or more involved recommissioning before it is ready to advertise.

Any preparation completed by Angloclassics is discussed first and charged separately at standard workshop rates.

OWNERSHIP, PRICE AND SALE OUTCOME

The motorcycle remains the owner’s property until payment has cleared

There is no guarantee that a motorcycle will sell. Buyer interest depends on the bike, its condition, presentation, documentation and asking price.

If buyer response shows that the asking price is too high, Angloclassics will discuss whether it should be revised. No price change or offer is accepted without the owner’s agreement.

The listing period, access to the motorcycle and arrangements if the bike is withdrawn or remains unsold are agreed before advertising begins.
