1969 Triumph Trident T150 Rear-End Rebuild
Project note: This bike was later completed and sold by Angloclassics. This update records the rear-end work carried out during the build in July 2025.
Once the rebuilt engine was back with the bike, attention moved to the rear end and the smaller jobs that make a big difference to how a finished motorcycle feels.
Rear wheel and brake
The rear wheel was stripped, cleaned and rebuilt using the original rim and spokes. A new tyre was fitted, the hub was polished, and the rear brake plate was cleaned and rebuilt with new shoes.

Chain guard and paint
The original chain guard was stripped and repainted rather than replaced. The aim was to retain original parts where they were still serviceable.
Swingarm and suspension
New swingarm bushes were fitted and the assembly went back together without play. The original rear shocks were beyond use, so they were replaced with a set that stayed reasonably close to the original appearance.

Seat and fasteners
The original seat base and shape were retained and refurbished with fresh trim. Many of the original fasteners were replated, while incorrect modern replacements from earlier work were changed where necessary.
Oil pressure gauge
An Angloclassics oil pressure gauge was fitted as a practical upgrade before the bike returned to the road.
At this point the remaining jobs were mainly fork gaiters, carburettors, final assembly and the first proper start-up.
