Norton Oil Gauge Install Instructions

Parts Included:
- Pressure Gauge with push fit connector
- Oil line
- Heat protector sleeve
- Oil feed banjo adapter bolt
- Push fit elbow connector

Instructions:

  1. Mount the Gauge to the handlebars with the rubber clamp, nut and bolt. Where you chose to mount it is up to you. If you choose to mount it in the centre you may need to move the rubber blanking plug at the top of the head steady. This can be put back into place by lifting the handlebars as it may be a tight fit. Once the bracket is installed, insert the gauge from the topside and then secure from the bottom side with the smaller rubber o-ring.

  1. Remove the rocker oil feed banjo on the back of the timing case. Replace with the adapter banjo bolt. You may wish to add thread tape. The Dowty sealing washer is installed between the adapter bolt and the rocker oil feed banjo.

  1. Install the push-fit elbow onto the end of the adapter banjo bolt. Make sure you push it as far in as it will go, you may feel a click. Gently pull the hose to ensure it is seated correctly.

  1. Run the 4mm oil hose from the elbow up to the oil gauge. It’s best to follow the right side of the frame right up to the top of the head steady. You can cut the line to suit - just remember to check full movement of the handlebars and allow some slack. Ensure the line is fully inserted at both ends.

  1. Insert the heat resistant hose line over the 4mm oil hose from where it goes into the push fit elbow up to just in front of the engine. This is to protect the line from excessive heat.

  1. Using cable ties, loosely secure the line to the frame.

  1. Once everything is secured and checked over. Start the engine to look for any oil leaks in case anything may need to be tightened or hoses inserted correctly. Once ok, do a few test miles checking the oil pressure and looking for any leaks.

Other Notes:

- You may wish to mount the adapter banjo on the LH oil rocker feed to the head. Just note that with the adapter elbow it will stick out above the spark plug so would need to be removed each time the spark plug is removed.
- Make sure that the oil feed line to the gauge is not pinched by the steering locks
- The air bubble in the gauge is normal, it allows the oil on the inside to expand.
